Hi everyone,
Embercast 0.3.24 is out for Windows and Mac, and this one is all about playing with friends.
Your friends list now shows who's online and what they're doing: playing solo, in a party lobby, in a match, or looking for a 2v2 match. Offline friends sit at the bottom, and you can invite anyone who's online.
Friends go both ways now. When you add someone by player name, they get a friend request, and once they accept, you each see when the other is online. If you added someone in an earlier version, they'll see your request the next time you're both playing.
Invites find you wherever you are. On the menus you get a card with Join and Not now. In free play or training, a notice appears in the corner, and the menu takes you straight to the invite. Joining from there drops you into your friend's party lobby.
Find a 2v2 match works with a friend now. Party up with one friend and press Find a 2v2 match, and the two of you queue together and always play on the same team. You can also search on your own and get paired with a teammate. While you wait, you can go and practise. The search timer sits in the corner, and when a match is found it brings you in from wherever you are.
Parties of three or more still play in their own lobby, with bots filling any empty places. Matchmade 2v2 isn't rated yet.
